The Northwest Quarter Horse Association, Inc. (NWQHA)

has been an active quarter horse association since the mid-1940s. The NWQHA is steeped in a long tradition of quarter horse ownership and the traditions of the real west~the Pacific Northwest. Having been founded by quarter horse owners/ breeders in Pendleton, Athena, Adams, Oregon, the association once encompassed a membership from the states of Oregon, Washington, Califorina, Nevada, and Idaho. The Northwest Quarter Horse Association has monthly meetings on the First Thursday of the month, September through June. These meeting rotate to various restaurants / conference rooms around our Oregon-Washington membership area. Emails are sent out to our membership of the time and location of our next monthly meeting.

The NWQHA also tries to have group rides in the wide open spaces as weather, time permits and we ride the indoor arena at the Walla Walla Fairgrounds when winter weather doesn't permit outdoor riding.

South Eastern Washington Show Circuit 63rd Annual Show

To increase participation & encourage young riders, we are allowing the Novice Youth to ride for 50 cents per judge in Novice  Youth classes and the 10 and Under Walk/Jog exhibitors will also enjoy a 50 cent ride per judge. We saw a large increase in those class numbers at the 2009 show, where for the first time the Novice Youth and 10 and Under exhibitors rode for free. We are continuing that program this year, but have imposed the 50 cent per judge fee for accounting tracking purposes. Also new this, we are offering a flat fee for Amateur, Novice amateur, and youth.

Additional excitement includes purse classes that payout per go eliminating the necessity to show under all 4 judges. The Circuit will provide $500 in purse money in each of the following classes:, Open Senior Cutting, Open Junior Cutting and Amateur Cutting paid out at $250 PER GO.

New this year we are adding NRCHA approved classes with $1100.00 of added money to be paid out for Thursday’s show.

Also, new this year is a $150 purse for both the Jr. Hunter Under Saddle and SR Hunter Under Saddle classes. This purse is not paid out per go but will be paid out based on placing for the entire circuit.

As well as promoting the 50 cents Novice Youth and Walk/Trot Classes, Flat Fee, NRCHA  and Purse Money classes, the Southeastern Washington Show Circuit will off recognition be awarding the AQHA Hi-Point Trophy for Hi-Point halter Horse as well as the beautiful AQHA All-around Trophies in Open, Amateur, Youth Divisions.
