Welcome to the NWQHA Website
The Northwest Quarter Horse Association (NWQHA) was established in the mid 1940’s by ranchers and Quarter Horse enthusiast from around northeast Oregon and southeast Washington. The Association is a non-profit corporation. Our charter is as follows, “To promote the interest of Northwest Quarter Horse owners and breeders, to increase the number of owners and breeders of quarter horses, and any and all things necessary to advance the prosperity of the breed and its owners and breeders. This is still our commitment today. Whether we are working cattle, showing, racing or enjoying a quiet trail ride the Quarter Horse has proven to be a reliable working partner and friend.
The NWQHA is a family oriented group that has a lot of fun while working hard to promote the Quarter Horse industry. We meet monthly at locations in Walla Walla, WA or Pendleton, OR. During the winter months members can enjoy riding at the Walla Walla Fair Grounds on Sundays. As the weather warms in the spring and summer months members can enjoy trail rides, schooling shows sponsored by the NWQHA.
In April the NWQHA puts on the South Eastern Washington Show Circuit (SEWSC) at the Walla Walla Fair Grounds. The SEWSC is a four day Quarter Horse show that draws competitors and trainers from all over the western United States and Canada. This show is one of the last shows in our region that still offers cow horse and cutting classes along with halter, showmanship, trail and rail classes. This is a great show with a long history of 65 consecutive years.
Come be a part of a great group of Quarter Horse enthusiasts and join the NWQHA.
